AIPGMEE 2012 QUESTION PAPER PDF

Looks like my continued state of unemployment is going to continued for a longer time. So do not expect me to fold up writing here anytime soon. So, whatever I say, screen that in your mind with respect to this information. Considering the November paper and this paper, the thing that stands out in stark contrast is the lack of so called repeats. I recognized some repeats, maybe better prepped folks shall pick up on some more, but I doubt it will cross 40 by any standards.

Now many people might be wondering why we are cribbing about the lack of repeats, because, frankly, it is not cool to re-ask. But that has been the trend and bucking the trend really throws examinees off their games. But the real question is, with this tendency in mind, are we approaching a time when there is a real focus on knowing the basic sciences and not just mugging repeats?

Ophthalmology: What is the deal? To he honest, subjects like Ophthalmology and Orthopedics have always been a bit of a pain in the neck, and relatively speaking this time, there were some tertiary repeats in Ophthalmology, which were do-able. However, the inordinate difficulty in the status of the Ophthalmology questions is mind boggling.

Somehow, it seems like a waste of time and energy to study for the Ophthalmology questions. ENT: Off the Hook! Usually, ENT is a subject which comes in plush and easy and helps us to bolster our scores a bit. Relatively speaking, I am better at ENT than in some of the others as well. However, I found that ENT questions this time were way more difficult than the usual standards expected in the exam.

Once again, it might seem to be nitpicking for puritans but the truth remains that with the advent of the exam-management, we have always depended a lot on the previous trends to help us along. The extra questions compared to most state and AIIMS exams is any day a difficult challenge but a 30 page questionnaire is difficult to read through in 3.

I am a VERY rapid reader and always manage to complete the Bhatia tests well within hours, but I found this a trying effort.

I had initially planned to do two surveys of the paper, leaving the more doubtful questions for a second read through, but after doing about 80 questions in 80 minutes, I realized it was going to be impossible to come back especially since I had to count to the number of questions attempted! I am glad I made that decision early or I might not have been able to complete the paper. This, again, is out of sync with the system of AIPG papers! Thameem was of the opinion that the AIIMS people are being dragged to court over a number of affairs nowadays, so they have developed a fetish for legal sections and sanctions.

Crazy though it sounds, it did come true again this time around. So not cool! Typos, Grammar, Spelling and Syntax Errors: If I had time, I would have counted them, but I am sure that there would have been at least transgressions of this nature. I know I am probably nit-picking when I am complaining about these things, but it really seems very unprofessional when you read a question and wonder whether the paper setter even cared to structure the sentence properly.

Psychoanalysts may want to look deeper heck, over at RxPG, they already are! It seems irrational to expect undergraduate students to know about those matters in such great details. However, this is not a new trend, and there always has been a fascination with the new drugs, new diagnostics, new treatment modalities, advancements in Radiology, etc.

I know most people will lynch me for saying this but though I could not answer a ton of these vignette-based questions, I really liked trying. I guess it is the Quizzer in me that took over in these questions than the PG student. However, I must admit a lot of these vignettes were criteria-based diagnoses which are not always easy to make.

Also, this is not the way the average Indian Medical Student is taught to think. If they want to ask these questions, they should give us fair warning. However, with the NEET impending to be unleashed on us in , I guess these questions are just a peek into what is in store for us. Show abhi baaki hai!

What say you? These are the 8 things I could come up with after a rapid recollection and analysis of the AIPG exam. So, if you can, try letting us know: 1. What are your thoughts on this exam? How was your exam?

How many did you attempt? Cannot wait to hear from you. And just in case you want to share your opinion with me personally, feel free to drop me an email at: Share this:.
