Shelves: non-fiction The matarial is certainly thought-provoking, especially their examination of the "Journalism of Affirmation" which made me realize how much I, as well as most others, select my sources of information based on the ones with which I agree the most. I really like the last chapter, which stressed that we should first decide WHAT we want to have information about--and suddenly I was liberated from having to think of news as mainly political. The authors suggest that we should have a list of interests and hone in on deepening our knowledge about and appreciation of THOSE interests--rather than letting the bombardment of media choose for us.
